Scope
This notice applies to assemblydigital.com, a professional site published by Michael Preuss. The site provides public writing, work examples, and contact information; it does not offer user accounts, checkout, or an on-site contact form. Linked services apply their own privacy notices and terms.
Analytics and technical data
When configured, the site uses Google Analytics and PostHog to understand visits, navigation, performance, errors, and interactions such as selecting a homepage lens or opening a published item. Those services may process page URLs, referral information, browser and device details, approximate location derived from network information, timestamps, interaction events, and pseudonymous identifiers. They may use first-party cookies or similar browser storage. The site does not intentionally send message contents or other directly identifying contact information to analytics tools.
Email, use, and retention
If you email Michael, your message is processed by the email services used by you and Michael. It is used to respond, keep appropriate correspondence records, and protect against abuse. Email is separate from site analytics. Do not include passwords or sensitive personal, customer, financial, or health information in an initial message. Site data is used to operate and secure the website, understand which public material is useful, diagnose technical problems, and improve navigation and content. Data may be processed by hosting, analytics, security, and email providers acting as service providers. It may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety. This site does not run a program that sells visitor contact information to data brokers. Analytics and hosting data follow the site's account settings and provider retention controls. Direct correspondence is kept only while reasonably useful for the conversation, professional records, security, or legal obligations. Provider backup copies may follow separate deletion cycles.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies and site storage, use privacy or content-blocking tools, or disable JavaScript. Public text remains available without JavaScript, although interactive effects and analytics will not run. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
